40 Years Success in Teaching Public Speaking
The Chadstone Oaks Toastmasters Club was formed in 1974 and met at several locations before settling on its current excellent venue in 1987 at the Chadstone (Lawn) Bowls Club in Treyvaud Park, Chadstone Road, East Malvern.
Over those past 40 years Chadstone Oaks has materially assissted around 500 people to learn and develop the skills of speaking in public. There are many stories of success, where individuals who gradually overcame their fear of speaking to forge successful careers. Current and former Chadstone Oaks members have used the skills learned through Toastmasters to great advantage in obtaining senior positions in, business, public service, self employment, education and to gain election to senior community leadership positions.
All have commented that it was the relaxed supportive environment of the club that factiliated this transition. |

The Toastmasters Mission A statement of shared values
Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
